Why do girls happen to stare at me ?

It's quite self conscious as I am pinned by looks by mostly girls, especially after when I have my hair cut short. I look better with it, but that's just me. It's usually when I am walking down corridors to next cl. They often start whispering to each other/ smiling at me. I have a medium height build, muscular but not macho freak. They fix their hair and stuff. I don't know what sort of impression I perspire. It's often when I am alone or just in front of my mates. So could anyone suggest an answer, that would be cools. Plus it's usually the year below me, which is quite worrying, I don't want to be the next pedophile on the front covers of news papers.
