When i start my dell laptop i have a problemm?

when is tart my dell laptop this problem from windows comes up and it says a bunch f stuff like windows was unable to start your computer and searching for problems..other times just a black screen comes up and stays like that..i really have to fix this can you please help me w/ simple steps because I have to get my laptop to start normally again!!!
